“The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.” These words of Johann Sebastian Bach have been the motto of Danny Estioco. For the past 15 years, he has earned a reputable name in the music industry and has been known as one of Batangas City’s multitalented and multiawarded contemporary musical artists.
In 1994, his God-given gift in composition got hold of its first national recognition when his song was one of the winners in the “Ikaanim na Salmo Papuri Festival,” organized by Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC), a Christian radio station. His music career soared as he stood out in regional and national competitions alike. A year later, at the age of 17, he bagged the grand prize in the “Batibot and the Bands Songwriting and Band Competition” with a song on children’s rights, “Tunay na Pagmamahal” and in the Musika Manila Region IV spearheaded by the Department of Tourism with “One World, One Heart.” For two consecutive seasons, he was the grand prize winner in the Tunog Pahiyas Festival. In 2008, he bested 37 bands in the “Tongkantangto Songwriting Festival” sponsored by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) with the song “Sana, Sana.” Together with JC Radio, he performed the MTV which is aired on national television and radio.
He also had the privilege to penetrate the Christian air waves when he contributed Christian contemporary and gospel songs to a number of Christian albums in the country. The songs “Awit ng Pagsamba,” “Sa’yong Kamay,” and “Yahweh,” are just some of his well-loved praise and worship songs circulating in different churches nationwide and worldwide. Even the Asia’s Diva, herself, Ms. Dulce Amor, personally chose one of Danny’s award-winning compositions, “Ngayon at Magpakailanman,” to be included in her latest album, “Ika’y Sadyang Dakila.”
Aside from being a composer, Danny is engaged in a wide array of musical pursuits. He teaches voice, guitar, drums, and keyboard lessons. He is a sought after resource speaker in Songwriting. He is a full time worship leader in his home church in Batangas City, the Jesus the Anointed One Church. Furthermore, he is a passionate arranger, producer, recording engineer and singer. In 2001, he established his own home-based recording studio. This paved the way for more opportunities. By word of mouth, his popularity as a commercial songwriter made a breakthrough in the music business industry. From 1994 up to the present, Danny has been an unswerving producer of political jingles, theme songs and radio ads for different institutions like the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), Batangas State University (BSU), Christ the Lord Institute (CLI), Information & Industrial Institute of Technology (IIIT), Limcoma, Simplicity Home Appliances, Mercury Drug and many others. Currently, he is an in-house arranger, songwriter, singer and producer of GUSI Records and Publishing House.
To date, Danny, together with his wife Joana and son Yeho, continues to develop his crafts, inspiring people to connect their lives to Jesus Christ through the powerful influence of music. As clearly reflected in J. S. Bach’s words, he desires to be an instrument in creating music that refreshes one's soul and in having a life that gives glory and honor to God.
